Members' Biographies
Professor David Round David Round is Professor of Economics and Director, Centre for Regulation and Market Analysis at the University of South Australia. He previously taught at the University of Adelaide, and has held distinguished visiting positions at Duke University, the University of Delaware (on three occasions, and where he is now Adjunct Professor of Economics), the College of William and Mary, Wesleyan University, Vanderbilt University and the University of Canterbury (on two occasions). He has authored well over 100 papers on industrial economics, competition policy and antitrust topics in leading Australian and international journals, and has been a consultant to many Australian and New Zealand companies, law firms and regulatory agencies. In January 1986 he was appointed an Associate Member of the Trade Practices Commission, and was re-appointed in November 1993, following which he was appointed an Associate Member of the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, until March 1998. In late 1989 he became an Associate Member of the Australian Telecommunications Authority, and in 1997 he was appointed Member of the Australian Communications Authority. He was appointed as a Member of the Australian Competition Tribunal in April 1998, and was reappointed in 2003. He is a Member of two Panels of Experts who assist the District Court of South Australia in hearing appeals under the Essential Service Commission Act 2002.
