Members' Biographies
Professor Cliff Walsh Cliff Walsh is Emeritus Professor of Economics and a Visiting Research Fellow in the School of Economics at the University of Adelaide. He is also a Member of the Board of the National Youth Mental Health Foundation and was appointed a Member of the Tribunal in 2004. Cliff was first appointed as a Professor of Economics in 1980 at the University of Adelaide. Cliff has career-long experience and expertise in the evaluation and implementation of public policy. He has been full-time advisor to a former Prime Minister, part time advisor to several State Premiers and a member of numerous Committees to review areas of public policy, covering, for example, state taxes and finances, local government reform, intergovernmental relations, regional economic development and Australia’s overseas aid program. During 2006, Cliff was Associate Commissioner on a Productivity Commission Inquiry into Road and Rail Freight Infrastructure Pricing and Provision. He is currently Associate Commissioner for a Productivity Commission Research Study on Local Government Revenue Raising Capacity.
