Dr Darryn Abraham

Darryn Abraham is currently the Director of the economics consulting firm Acacia CRE Pty Ltd. He has previously worked as a consultant for Access Economics, as a Lecturer at the Australian National University and the University of New South Wales (Australian Defence Force Academy) and as a Senior Research Officer at the Commonwealth Treasury. He received his BEc (Hons) from the University of Adelaide and his MEc and PhD from the Australian National University.

As a Lecturer in Economics in the Faculties at the Australian National University, Darryn taught undergraduate and graduate level courses in microeconomics and public economics.

Darryn has over 16 years of economics consulting experience, during which time he has advised and prepared reports for public and corporate clients on matters encompassing: telecommunications pricing, regulation and interconnection policy; regulation and restructuring of electricity retailing and distribution; controls over prices at ports and airports; regulation of payment systems; and competition in food and grocery retail markets. He has also provided advice on pricing and cost recovery policies to a number of government agencies. Darryn has testified on behalf of clients before hearings of Parliamentary inquiries and has prepared economic expert evidence for, or provided testimony in, cases before the Federal Court and the Australian Competition Tribunal.
