Fees

Pursuant to s 112 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth) (Act) and s 7-23 of the Competition and Consumer (Notification of Acquisitions) Determination 2025 (Cth) (Determination), fees may be payable in respect of applications made pursuant to Part 9 Divisions 1A and 1B of the Act. Whether or not a fee is payable, and the amount (if any) of that fee, may be ascertained by reference to s 7-23(2)-(4) and (7)-(9) of the Determination.

Pursuant to s 7-23(5), the fee in relation to an application must be paid at the time that the application is made.

Pursuant to r 28 of the Competition and Consumer Regulations 2010 (Cth), a fee may be payable for obtaining a copy of a document filed in the Tribunal. The prescribed fee is $1.00 for each page. Such documents can, however, be viewed free of charge at Current Matters.

How to make payment

Application fees must be paid by electronic funds transfer to the following account:

The Tribunal is unable to receive payment of application fees by any other method.

So that the payment can be identified and processed, at the time of deposit an email containing the following information should be sent to both banking@fedcourt.gov.au and to registry@competitiontribunal.gov.au:

  • the name of the party making the payment;
  • the amount of the payment;
  • details of the calculation made pursuant to s 7-23 of the Determination;
  • the case number of the determination of the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission the subject of the application; and
  • the contact details of the party making the payment.
